These two babes are the reason why I still think I could pull off a pearl necklace so off the hookingly well....show up at parties and have a fashion moment; OR fail epically.
First time was while watching style.com's show reviews on video, as I religiously do every season, and then there he was: Mr. Valli talking about his gorgeous couture dresses from Fall 11, and I was struck. I just didn't know wether to love it or spit on my screen, so I decided to love it and embrace the clash.
And then we have Peter from Low Couture whom I only discovered recently and whose blog I instantly loved. His outfit posts have that Céline-ish static aesthetic which is often just the right amount of awkward for me but still effortless and fresh.
This is all we've been doing for days now.
This week in NL hass been of DIVINE weather; and as I have lived here for long enough I know that when the weather gets THIS good around here, you should drop everything you're doing and soak up every ray of light you can.......
...and drink rosé beers while at it, wear your beach hair proud and wavy, skin salty with patchouli and cocoa tanning lotion lingers.
Tattoo artists ussually practive on pork's skin before they can tattoo on actual human skin. Henk Schiffmacher, dutch known tattoo artist, has been succesfully busy for years now with tracing eternal lines on people's bodies.
Recently he practiced such lines on a new kind of canvas though; A CAR.
During the opening of the 17th edition of Amsterdam's Fashion Week, which took place from the 11th till the 15th of july, Schiffmacher went lose while inking this white Volvo.
The swedish brand has given the car a modern scandinavian look this time, meaning a clean and modest look with a touch of lux. As the main sponsor of Amsterdam Fashion Week, Volvo wants to underline the importance of design, so they even worked together with one of the designers showing during the week.
Check Schiffmacher in action!
I just love her.
I DO I DO I DOOOOOO
It's stronger than me.
She dies once again, SO FLAWLESLY.
I wish I could go with her everytime.
This is so on-point and true to her album's soul.
1. BALCONY DINNER! You know that moment when you smile and you think you look really sweet and cute but when you see the actual picture it's really not the case? this picture explains this situation to perfection.
2. Some kind of curtains.
3. About to hit it downtown, and please note you could see my shirt through my pants.
So since I'm not able to make any kind of pictures lately, we'll have to do with my bf's iPhone quality pictures which are really not bad quality pics actually and always add a little bit of grayniness a la polaroid to the composition.
I'm wearing a red lace slitted shirt under this coat, so pitty you can't see it. I had been researching Ann Sofie Back for a whole morning that day so I was feeling quite slitty and deconstructive.
I'm attending a 90's party tonight and I'm almost sure there will be no Aaliyah to be heard, and that saddens my heart.
Last friday someone stole my entire bag while going out.
Everything, I mean EVERYTHING was in it. Including both cellphone and digital camera where I still had amazing pictures I was saving for special post-occasions.
For example, a picture I had taken that same friday at a rooftop party in Rotterdam, of my sister looking ecstatic in a black and white outfit, laying down over a grass field covered in pink tiny flowers....all of this, I repeat, at a rooftop.
I'm always so careful, I feel so stupid.
And I swear I don't just do this because it's my sister.
But her new video montage is GORGEOUS.
Such an incredible vibe...
Brings back soooooo so many memories; playing and dancing on the streets, till dinner was ready...then eat and go back out till your mom would claim you back in to go to bed.
If you missed my previous posts about any of her older montages, check them out here. Specially FLESHION WEEK and FEEL SOMETHING, my favourites.
So I'm not gonna summarize the whole thing for you, or make nice and subtle suggestions for which you should watch this show, but all you need to know is that you HAVE to watch this show.
Because if you like IMBOYCRAZY.COM you will like this, if you liked, cried to, adored, Sex and the city you will like this, if you are a girl in your 20's this will definetly talk to you and you will LOVE this, if you're a gay guy in your 20's, you will most probably love this too.....and DAMN even if you're straight I'm sure you will feel identified somehow in there.
SO GET ON IT.
ps. if you're still doubting me (pffff) please watch Chelsea Lately interviewing Lena Dunham, who created, wrote AND directs the episodes once in a while. She also so happens to be the main character? and she's AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWESOME.
If Carrie Bradshaw were to have a daughter, Lena would be the blessed offspring.
I love our house.
Although last time we re-arranged our interior was last new year's eve, and we're so looking forwards changing everything again, I just love this space.
It's good to look around and see yourself reflected in every vase, doll, porcelain or whatever the heck it is you have in your house.
If you were to start to get rid of the stuff that bother you visually and replacing it, one thing at a time of course, for items you would love to see everyday, I'm sure you will be ten times more productive and a zillion times more motivated to do inspiring stuff.
Take my example, I love to whip my hair back and forth on my persian carpets.....
This is the reason why I think VOGUE Italia still calls the shots till this day.
SO BELLOOOOOOOOOOO, so highly humoristic but SO fucking well excecuted.
IT Givenchy girl gone voodoo priestess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I mean it's fantastic, I love how they're posing as if they held beautiful clutches and purses while hanging around each other, resembling those beautiful streetsyle spontaneous moments during fashion weeks.
But instead they're holding posessed cocks.
BRAVO Mr. Meisel, oops he so did it again.
WHERE had Wavy Spice been all my life?!
I love how right at the beginning it looks as if she was stepping out of the Grand hotel in Paris, but then she heads off to Central Park for a pretty sunny and flashy (maybe fleshy?) day out with the garlfriend$$$$$$$
I mean gosh don't we all at some point feel and pretend to be "posh"? but deep down inside we all know we have a little bit (or in my case A LOT) in us of what these girls have in them.
And fuck all people who say that just by using the word "posh" or fancy" you're un-posh and un-fancy right away; I mmmmmmmmean look at Victoria Beckham aka POSH spice and where she is now. Even tho she super fab and loaded we all know she's just like these girls, came from the same place as these girls and probably LOVES to have fun in her private gardens JUST LIKE THESE GIRLS. So why not advertise it once in a while?
WHY WAIT TILL EFFIN WINTOUR DICTATES IT'S COOL TO BE UN-POSH???????
NOT TO MENTION I'M IN LOVE WITH THE SONG TOO, here's the other deal, I want HOLY to take the right _next step_ but still I don't wanna betray everything I've stood up for this far, so I've had a little bit of an inner blogger-identity crisis lately. But luckily, this song and these girls tonight smacked me right across the face and told me:
BITCH BE UN-POSH.
Cause if I look around, all I see is one big fingerprint, being followed, reproduced, burnt and therefore KILLED and I would hate to fall into being a blog following any of those steps.
